Roadtrippin’

Andrew decided yesterday that he wanted to go to Dubuque to get some beer making supplies, so we made an impromptu road trip yesterday afternoon. I found a cool bulk foods market called The Calico Bean Market (which I might just be making more frequent trips to Dubuque to visit) & had a quad espresso at Monks Kaffee Pub, Andrew got his beer kit at Bluff Brew Haus, Brighton got to play frisbee, go to the top of the Fourth Street Elevator, see the boats come in at the lock and dam #11, and Emme got to…well…eat. And eat…and eat. And sleep.   Finally to soothe Miss Emme from her hissy fit, we stopped at Swiss Valley Campground (somehow we missed the huge park and nature center…) so she could have one last meal before the 1 hour trip home.  On our way home we spotted Andrew’s Aunt Karen and Uncle Doug taking a walk so we stopped for a bit to see them. It sure was a full day!
